from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Claudius Alzner (actually Klaus Alzner ; born January 16, 1930 in Vienna , Austria ; † February 1, 2002 in Klosterneuburg , Lower Austria ) was an Austrian orchestral musician, band leader and film composer .

Life

Alzner began as a member of Johannes Fehring's orchestra , played the piano, worked as an arranger and orchestra leader, who at times had his own combo with Claudius Alzner and his soloists (or the Claudius Alzner orchestra ) (a seventeen-part record series Cocktail International was released from 1967 to 1980 ). and was considered a classic representative of easy listening music. He was also the founder and director of the Chris Westgard Choir . In the second half of the 1960s he can also be proven as a film composer. From 1965 to 1969 he wrote the scores for a series of rather low-quality entertainment films that were produced exclusively by Alzner's compatriot Karl Spiehs . He also composed as Udo Westgard ; he often wrote for Gus Backus and Ted Herold , Arik Brauer and Peter Kraus . Nothing is known about Alzner's work since the 1980s.
