action

The council of the idyllic village Jonkborn in Sweden's hinterland wants to open up the place for tourism in order to tap a new source of money. The Ministry of Tourism has already promised financial support for this, if certain requirements are met. The advertising specialist Leif should advise the community. Mayor Nils Hansen came up with the idea of expanding the spring in the nearby forest, which the population likes to call the "love spring", into an attraction. A poster was quickly designed that shows a naked lady bathing and emblazoned with the words: "Jonkborn's source of love gives men strength and women beauty!"

Government Commissioner Knobbe is supposed to check the village's eligibility for subsidies . At the sight of the poster, however, he is speechless. His boss, Minister van Weyden, also finds the paper morally offensive. But that's not all! Suddenly the place threatens to turn into a true Sodom and Gomorrah . A couple of guardians of virtue watch with binoculars as a woman in the attic of the community barn completely defoliates the leaves. Upon further investigation, the three moral guards discover the advertising man with the girl Stina in bed. Eligibility for funding is over for the time being.

Some time later, the community starts a new attempt to benefit from subsidies. This time a whole commission is supposed to come to Junkborn for examination. The mayor orders a week of virtue so as not to jeopardize the project. In doing so, however, he disregarded the fact that it is the full moon and that, according to ancient tradition, the source should be particularly effective at this time. The pharmacist, the landlord and the merchant have the task of observing the source at night. Before long they see the strict teacher stepping naked into the pond with the girls Caroline and Victoria. Suddenly a shot rang out and the three men on the high seat let out a cry of pain. A load of shot hit them. The bathers quickly run away. Mayor Hansen apologizes for tripping his shotgun and triggering a shot.

Leif describes the miracle source in the highest tones to a crowd of journalists. Meanwhile, the mayor is making sure that it dries up with a temporary weir. However, the newspaper articles mean that more and more strangers flock to Jonkborn and want to bathe, but just now the source is on strike. In the end, Nils Hansen has no choice but to let it bubble again. The result is a lively bathing activity, as the place has never seen before.

The minister is not long in coming either. On the spur of the moment, she nationalized the lucrative source and appointed Carl to head the source operation. She cuts the ribbon at the official inauguration. However, it is not Mrs. van Weiden who steps into the pond as the first guest, but - amid the laughter of the guests - a completely naked woman, a four-year-old child!

Production notes

Most of the outdoor shots were shot in Bulgaria, although, as producer Karl Spiehs admitted, “the whole thing could actually have been staged more cheaply on the Rax .” The fictional “Swedish village” Jonkborn was built around 60 kilometers from Sofia according to the plans of the film architect Wolf Witzemann built with thatched roofs, half-timbering and 22,000 bricks. The costumes came from Gerdago .

criticism

“Nudist film in disguise with clearly speculative intentions. Even if the images are subject to the known limits, the film remains colored in the wool. We advise against it. "

"Varies at the lower limit of taste."
