Clifford "Cliff" Griffith (born February 6, 1916 in Nineveh , Indiana , † January 23, 1996 in Rochester , Indiana) was an American racing driver .

Career

Griffith started at irregular intervals between 1950 and 1956 in the AAA National series and 1961 in the USAC series . He came to a total of 19 races, eight times placing in the top ten. His best result was fourth place in the 1950 Springfield race. He also competed four times in the Indianapolis 500 . His best result here was a ninth place, which he achieved in 1952 in a Kurtis Kraft - Offenhauser . However, he was unable to qualify for the race eight times.

Since the 500 miles were part of the Formula 1 world championship from 1950 to 1960 , Griffith also has three entries in the driver’s world championship on the start lists. He could not achieve points for the World Cup.
