structure
The organs are the general assembly, the board of directors, the commissions , the auditors and the arbitration tribunal .
The general meeting takes place once a year. It is made up of the designated representatives of the member associations.
The board is made up of the president, the vice-president, the treasurer and two other members.
Commissions can be set up by the general assembly on specific topics and are composed of representatives of the member associations.
Two auditors are elected by the general assembly for a term of four years.
Commissions
The commissions are specialist bodies and advisory bodies to the board. You report directly to the board of directors and work towards it. The commissions are made up of experts from the associations and therefore have in-depth specialist knowledge in the respective subject areas as well as the connection to their respective association. At the moment, the “Nature Conservation and Alpine Regional Planning” commissions, the “Mountain Sports, Training and Safety” commission and the “Huts and Paths” commission are active in the CAA. The commissions operate, among other things, the professional exchange between the member associations, develop positions and strategies on current relevant topics in accordance with the CAA, and support the board in its work.
Tasks - goals
The CAA tries to safeguard the common interests of its members, in particular in the field of alpinism , nature conservation and alpine spatial planning , alpine culture and the goals documented in the Convention for the Protection of the Alps ( Alpine Convention ). "The CAA sees itself primarily as a representation of interests for the entire Alpine region while at the same time respecting the interests of its members."
The association has observer status at the Alpine Convention and thus has a seat on the committees of this international treaty. "There he is committed to the rapid implementation of the Alpine Convention by the signatory states in order to ensure sustainable development of the Alpine region."
Publications
The publications are examples of the positions developed in the commissions. In addition to the “Charter for Mountaineering”, which is the CAA's policy paper, this also includes the CAA position paper “Environmentally friendly ski competitions” and “Wind turbines in the mountain area”.
