Cody Thornton (born July 16, 1986 in Embro , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who last played at EV Landshut in the ice hockey major league on the position of the right winger . His uncle Joe Thornton is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Thornton played a total of five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League from 2002 to 2007 , first for the Belleville Bulls and then for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds , where he was the second best scorer in the 2006/07 season with 76 points and reached the playoff semifinals.

In the following three years he played at Saint Mary's University Halifax in the Canadian University Championship before moving to Germany in 2010 and joining the second division team Landshut Cannibals .
