Coeur Mining (formerly Coeur d'Alene Mines ) is the largest US silver producer based in Chicago , Illinois . In addition to silver , the company also mines gold .

Company history

The company was founded in 1928. The company went public on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in 1990. Mitchell J. Krebs has been President and CEO and successor to Dennis E. Wheeler, who headed the company for almost 25 years, since July 2011.

In 2013, the company's headquarters were relocated from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to Chicago, and the company's name was changed from “Coeur d'Alene Mines” to “Coeur Mining”.
