The Vico Lake and the Monti Cimini

The Comunità Montana dei Cimini Zona II del Lazio is an association of ten municipalities in the Italian province of Viterbo . It emerged from the usually quite small communities, which are at least partly in mountain regions, in order to strengthen the economic development of the region. Further tasks are the strengthening of tourism, nature conservation and the preservation of rural culture.

The area of ​​the Comunità Montana includes the Monti Cimini around Lake Vico . This mountain range is the remainder of the caldera , an extinct volcano. The core area around the crater lake is occupied by the Vicosee nature reserve ( Riserva Naturale Regionale Lago di Vico ).

The municipal councils of the participating municipalities each send three members to the thirty-member council of the Comunità.

The Comunità includes the following municipalities:

The districts of Bagnaia and San Martino al Cimino of the provincial capital Viterbo belong to the Comunità Montana.
