Vignanello is 66 km north of Rome and 20 km east of Viterbo . The place is located in the Monti Cimini northeast of Lake Vico . He is a member of the Comunità Montana dei Cimini .

Federico Grattarola ( PD ) was elected mayor in May 2003 and confirmed in office in April 2008. His left-wing citizen list made up the majority in the municipal council with 11 out of 16 seats. In 2013, the previous Vice Mayor, Vincenzo Grasselli (also Partito Democratico), was elected as his successor, but with the last election on June 20, 2018, Grattarola again received the majority of votes as Mayor.
