Blera is located in the Monti Sabatini between Lake Bracciano and Lake Vico , 92 kilometers northwest of Rome .

history

Blera was an important Etruscan city under the original name of Plera . During the 3rd century BC The territory became part of the Roman Empire . The Romans built the Via Clodia , which connected Blera with Rome and other important places in the empire.

In 772 AD Blera was destroyed by the Lombards under Desiderius , their last king.
