Conrad Hoddaeus

Conrad Hoddaeus (also: Konrad Hoddaeus ; born around 1568 in Hanover ; died 1597 or after 1598 ) was a German doctor and university professor .

Life

Conrad Hoddaeus studied at the University of Heidelberg , where he received his doctorate in 1591. med. received his doctorate. Later he took over the office of city ​​physician in Göttingen , where he taught medicine and “ physiciae ” at the “local pedagogy” .

Before 1592 Hoddaeus married Catharina, nee Herst.

Hoddaeus is said to have died of the plague in 1597 . Referring to the death of Hoddaeus, the former Göttingen city doctor Andreas Starck recommended himself shortly afterwards with his book Von der Pestilentz ... how one created oneself graciously with God's help through means from somebody / for it / and that may also heal . According to Christoph Seeliger , however, Hoddaeus is said to have resigned his teaching post in 1598 and worked as a councilor for the city of Göttingen as well as inspector or director of the Göttingen orphanage.
