Johann Konrad Friedrich Franz Leopold Konstantin Heribert Graf von Preysing-Lichtenegg-Moos (born March 16, 1843 at Zeil Castle , Württemberg ; † June 6, 1903 in Munich ) was a German nobleman from the Preysing family , a member of the Reichstag and Grand Chancellor of St. Order of St. George Knights.

He was born the son of Maximilian Graf von Preysing (1810–1881) and his wife Anna von Waldburg-Zeil (1821–1849). His mother's brother was the well-known Jesuit and preacher Georg Ferdinand von Waldburg-Zeil (1823–1866); at the same time she was a cousin of the Mainz bishop Wilhelm Emmanuel von Ketteler (1811–1877).

Preysing attended high school in Mainz . After completing his studies at the universities in Bonn and Munich , he became master of Moos Castle in Lower Bavaria. From August to December 1870 he served in the Franco-Prussian War .

In the first elections to the Reichstag in 1871 , he received the majority of votes in the Niederbayern 2 constituency (Straubing-Landau-Vilshofen). He was a member of the German parliament as a member of the Catholic Center Party until 1893. On January 22, 1900, he won the constituency Niederbayern 5 (Deggendorf) in a replacement election and represented this constituency in the Reichstag until his death. Together with his relative, the "workers' bishop" Wilhelm von Ketteler , Preysing campaigned for the interests of the Catholic Church in the Reichstag. His home in Lower Bavaria was also always his focus. The expansion of Plattling into a railway junction goes back to his persuasion.

In his hometown of Plattling he appeared as one of their greatest patrons and benefactors. After the city fire, he helped significantly with the reconstruction with financial donations. The foundation of the volunteer fire brigade and the Kolping House go back to Preysing . He also donated a gym and a children's institution to the city. For his services, the city of Plattling awarded him honorary citizenship on May 21, 1901 . Today a monument in front of the town hall commemorates him. The upper part of the town square, a street and the secondary school in the town bear his name.

Preysing was married to Christiane von und zu Arco-Zinneberg from 1878 . The couple had seven children together. Two sons died in World War I, one son died before reaching the age of majority, and two daughters became nuns in Sacre Coeur. One daughter married Count Ernst Harrach. His son Georg married the Bavarian Princess Gundelinde , daughter of King Ludwig III.

Conrad von Preysing was the godfather of his nephew, later Cardinal Konrad von Preysing (1880–1950).
