Constantin Cândea (1940)

Constantin Cândea (born December 15, 1887 in Mărgineni , Bacău district , † March 4, 1971 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian chemist who taught as a professor at the Timișoara Polytechnic .

Life

Constantin Cândea graduated from the Lyceum "Prinz Ferdinand" (now National Collegium "Ferdinand I") Bacau in 1907 and the Royal Bavarian Technical University of Munich (now Technical University of Munich ) in 1911. He later received a doctorate in chemistry .

Shortly after the Timișoara Polytechnic was founded in 1920 , Constantin Cândea set up the chemical laboratory there. From 1946 to 1947 he was rector of the university.

Cândea was a corresponding member from 1935 and from 1936 a full member of the Romanian Academy of Sciences .

He was married to Maria (Antoniade) Cândea (born October 2, 1889 in Galați ; † April 16, 1974 in Bucharest), teacher of French , who had studied in France and later founded the Pedagogical Lyceum "Queen Maria" in Ploieşti and has led.

His grave is in Bucharest's largest cemetery, the Bellu Cemetery , field 4.
