Copkiller (international title: Order of Death ) is an Italian thriller from 1983. It was directed by Roberto Faenza , who also wrote the screenplay with Ennio De Concini and the author of the novel The Order of Death, Hugh Fleetwood .
action
A policeman working for the New York drug squad is killed. Fred O'Connor, who took money from the drug dealers, takes over the investigation. Leo Smith breaks into his apartment, claiming he was the culprit. O'Connor is holding him in the apartment and interrogating him. He uses torture to do so. His friend Bob Carvo stands up for Smith, whereupon O'Connor kills Carvo. Smith then settles on an island off Canada to start a new life.
Reviews
The magazine TV Spielfilm 6/2008 wrote that the film was a "fast paced psycho duel with strong opponents" . His plot avoids "any cliché" , the portrayal of Harvey Keitel is "terrific" . The lexicon of international films also noted positively: "Despite some lengths, a complex and exciting psychogram about the ambivalence of social values."
