Corentin Denolly (born June 6, 1997 in Vienne ) is a French tennis player .
Career
Denolly started playing tennis when she was five.
He was already very successful on the ITF Junior Tour. In his final year as a junior in 2015, he played all four junior Grand Slam tournaments . His best performance was the semi-finals at the French Open , where he lost to Taylor Fritz . Shortly afterwards, he achieved his best position in the junior world rankings with 3rd place.
Denolly also first gained a foothold among professionals in 2015. In Algeria he reached his first final on the third-class ITF Future Tour . He played for the first time on the higher endowed ATP Challenger Tour in Lyon in 2016 , but lost significantly in singles and doubles. By the end of the year, Denolly had reached three more individual finals in futures, one of which he won. In doubles he won three titles by the end of the year, which he finished in 468th place in the top 500 of the world rankings for the first time . The year 2017 was similar to the previous year. He played almost exclusively futures and moved into five finals, won two of them and got three more titles in doubles, which meant that he could only maintain his ranking. He didn't make a big breakthrough in 2018 either. The French competed in Challengers qualifiers more often, but never made it into the main draw. At the French Open 2018 he received a wildcard for the individual qualification and the doubles competition from the tournament manager . He could not make the Grand Slam premiere in doubles positive, in the qualification for the singles he was able to win a match against John-Patrick Smith . His best position in the world rankings dates back to February 2018 when he was number 389.
