Cornelia Bitsch
Cornelia Bitsch (born October 17, 1949 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German author , director , actress and radio broadcaster.
Life and career
Cornelia Bitsch is the daughter of the couple Werner and Brigitte Bitsch. She grew up in Baden-Baden and experienced her first stage appearance at the local theater as the sunbeam in " Frau Holle ". The parents had a music business and were very closely connected to the municipal theater and orchestra, so even in childhood many concerts and theater visits, as well as the large artistic circle of friends of the parents, dictated Bitsch's later life. After high school, she worked in Paris and London for a year to perfect her language skills and then studied acting and directing at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart . After several small roles at the Stuttgart State Theater and a successful university degree, she worked as an actress and director from 1972 to 2001, including at the Munster Municipal Theaters and the Baden-Baden City Theater , where she was also deputy artistic director under Frieder Lorenz. After working abroad as director of the Europa KulTour, she took over the small Baldreit summer theater stage in Baden-Baden's old town on her own in 2009 and was the artistic director of the Burgbühne Oberkirch eV as director and in-house author for around 25 years.
She also worked for television every now and then, wrote the screenplay for the Tony Marshall anniversary show on ZDF in 1997 , shot on SWR and WDR , but then turned back to the theater stage and her literary work. Today she works primarily as a director, presenter , speaker and author. Her previous work includes radio plays , audio books , plays and musical reviews .
Her first marriage was to the musician and composer Matthias Schulz.
Acting as a director
Cornelia Bitsch began her career as a theater director at the municipal theaters in Münster / Westphalia . It was shaped by the collaboration with Gerhard F. Hering , Sam Besekow, Peter von Wiese and Jürgen Strube. She brought 48 productions on stage, including u. A. the musical Anatevka by Joseph Stein / Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick in the Eurodistrict Strasbourg-Ortenau as a German-French co-production as well as 11 own productions.
