Cornelia Diethelm

Cornelia Diethelm (born November 20, 1954 in Schiers ) is a Swiss journalist , book author and musician . She is the founder of the music initiative Music over the Sea .

biography

Cornelia Diethelm grew up in Schiers and went to school in the Protestant Middle School in Schiers . She studied organ at the Zurich Conservatory and graduated as an organist in 2009 at the University of Music and Theater (today Zurich University of the Arts ) . She worked as an organist in various Swiss parishes.

From 1983 she also worked as a freelance journalist for Swiss print media and for Swiss Radio DRS (now Radio SRF ). In addition, she had a permanent position at the Observer , Tele and RadioMagazin (now Kulturtipp ). Among other things, she wrote a feature, the biography of the former television and radio presenter Mäni Webers and a portrait book on the subject of "Turns in Life". For several years she was involved in the climate protection organization myblueplanet . Diethelm has been a member of the SRG.D Public Council since 2008 and a member of the governing committee of this body since 2013.

In 1991/92 and 1993/94 Diethelm lived in the Dominican Republic , where she also founded her music initiative Music over the Sea . In 2011 she was accompanied by Pepe Lienhard as a guest musician in the Dominican Republic. In 2014 four Dominican youths performed together with Lienhard in Frauenfeld . In 2016 the Swiss band Traktorkestar gave several concerts in the Dominican Republic together with youth orchestras from Musik über Meer.

Diethelm was one of the first women to train to become a hot air balloon pilot. She lives in Hedingen .
