Cornelis Visscher
Cornelis Visscher (* 1629 in Haarlem or Amsterdam , † before June 7, 1662 ) was a Dutch engraver and portrait artist.
Cornelis Visscher formed in Haarlem, allegedly under the direction of Pieter Claesz. Soutman , on whose behalf he executed engravings after Peter Paul Rubens and especially numerous copperplate engravings . In 1653 he joined the Guild of St. Luke and was then self-employed for a few years. He also engraved and engraved after Guido Reni , Parmigianino , Adriaen Brouwer and Adriaen van Ostade . His brothers Jan de Visscher and Lambert Visscher were also engravers.
