Corry Berger (born January 9, 1982 in Bad Soden am Taunus ), Corry Stützer since 2015, is a German national basketball player .

Career

The 1.92 meter long athlete began her career in 1994 at TV Bensberg . Through the club's youth teams, she got into the first women's team, played in the 2nd women's basketball league and rose with her team in 2001 to the 1st women's basketball league . In 2001/2002 Berger moved to the USA and played at the University of San Francisco. For the 2002/2003 season she returned to TV Bensberg, a year later she moved to the 2nd Spanish league in Palma de Mallorca to Joventut Mariana Soller. In the 2005/2006 season she played again in Bensberg and in 2006/2007, after her home club withdrew from the Bundesliga, she moved to Oberhausen to New Basket '92 Oberhausen . After completing her diploma thesis in economics at the University of Cologne , she switched to series champion TSV 1880 Wasserburg in the 2007/08 season and became German champion in 2008 with this . Corry Berger was signed by WWK Donau-Ries on June 1st, 2009. After being out of action for a long time due to protracted injuries, she was only able to make her debut in spring 2011, but then still played a major role in 4th place in the DBBL main round and the final in the DBB Cup competition. After another long break from injury, she made her comeback in 2013 at TS Jahn Munich in the 2nd Bundesliga. She became a mother in 2015 and therefore took a baby break. She made her new comeback in early 2016.

National team

Berger was already a U18 and U20 national player and made her debut on July 22nd, 2004 in a 60:65 against Poland in Spała in the senior national team. She completed 50 senior international matches (as of January 2009). She was a player in the German national team at the 2007 European Championship in Chieti ( Italy ).

family

Corry Berger's sister Suska is also a Bundesliga player and played in the 1st Bundesliga for TV Bensberg (or BELKAW BasCats), BG Göttingen and the Wildcats Wolfenbüttel , and currently in the 2nd Bundesliga for Eintracht Braunschweig. She is married and has a son.
