Cosmo's Factory is the fifth studio album by the American rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival and one of six albums the band released in just over two years. It was published in July 1970 when record label Fantasy Records .
The name of the album comes from a warehouse in Berkeley where the band was rehearsing. Because band leader John Fogerty was keen to work there almost every day, Doug “Cosmo” Clifford , the band's drummer , began to refer to the place as “the factory”.
The album became a huge commercial success. It peaked at # 1 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart ; there were also six singles that were in the top 5 . In addition, it even reached number 11 on the Billboard Black Albums chart , which is extremely rare for a "white" music group.
