Courtney Babcock

Courtney Babcock (born June 30, 1972 in Chatham-Kent , Ontario ) is a Canadian middle and long distance runner .

In 2000 she became Canadian champion in cross country , in 2001 and 2002 over 5000 m and in 2002 and 2003 over 10,000 m . At the 2001 World Athletics Championships in Edmonton, she was eliminated over 5000 m in the preliminary run, and at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester and the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis, she was eighth.

In 2004 she started at the Olympic Games in Athens over 1500 m and 5000 m, but failed in each case in the preliminary run. At the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in 2006 , she was seventh over 5000 m.

Courtney Babcock is 1.63 m tall and weighs 50 kg. The daughter of ice hockey player Larry Babcock studied at the University of Michigan . She is married with one son and currently coaches the University of Montana cross-country team .
