Crisanto Darío Mata Cova (born October 25, 1915 in San José de Areocuar , Venezuela , † January 9, 1998 ) was Archbishop of Ciudad Bolívar .

Life

Crisanto Darío Mata Cova received on 8 April 1939, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On October 21, 1949, Pope Pius XII appointed him . first Bishop of Cumaná . The Archbishop of Caracas , Lucas Guillermo Castillo Hernández , donated him episcopal ordination on November 13 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of San Cristóbal de Venezuela , Rafael Ignacio Arias Blanco , and the Coadjutor Bishop of Calabozo , Antonio Ignacio Camargo .

On April 30, 1966, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Archbishop of Ciudad Bolívar.

On May 26, 1986 Pope John Paul II accepted the resignation put forward by Crisanto Darío Mata Cova for reasons of age.

Crisanto Darío Mata Cova attended the first, second and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
