Christian Hanack
Christian Hanack (also Christoph Hannack; born March 31, 1692 in Wittenberg ; † July 25, 1765 in Wittenberg) was a German legal scholar.
Life
Christian Hanack was born the son of a baker; on April 2, 1692 he was baptized. He attended high schools in Zerbst and Dresden . After he had enrolled at the University of Wittenberg in his hometown on October 29, 1711 and had been an avid student of Johann Balthasar Wehner , Caspar Heinrich Horn and Georg Beyer , he obtained the degree of Magister in Philosophy in September 1719 and received his doctorate on February 19, 1720 Doctor of Law. He gave legal lectures with applause. In 1726 he received an extraordinary professorship and in 1730 a full professorship for Saxon law.
Although he had taken over the professorship of the institutions in 1744 through the favor of the Saxon court against the will of the Saxon senior consistory, in whose eyes he was considered incapable, he rose to the pandect professorship Digestium infortatium et novum and finally to the professorship of the Codex in 1752 . Through his professorships, he had become an assessor and assessor at the court and the Schöppenstuhl. In his last lifetime he was a senior in the law faculty and administered the rectorate of the Wittenberg Academy in the summer semesters 1749, 1755 and 1761 .
