The Crystal Symphony is a 1995 posed into service cruise ship of Crystal Cruises . She is the sister ship of the Asuka II, built as Crystal Harmony, and the enlarged Crystal Serenity .
history
The Crystal Symphony was commissioned from Kvaerner Masa-Yards (today Meyer Turku) as a sister ship to the Crystal Harmony, which was commissioned in 1990 , in December 1992 and commissioned for Crystal Cruises on May 3, 1995.
In 2006, the Crystal Symphony was modernized and rebuilt for US $ 23 million at BAE Systems in Norfolk . In addition to the 545 available workers at the shipyard, 750 additional workers were hired to keep to the tight schedule for completing the renovation work. In 2009 the ship was modernized again in Boston and in June 2012 at Blohm + Voss in Hamburg .
From September 23, 2017 to October 16, 2017, the ship was converted at Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven .
The Crystal Symphony has been used on changing routes since it was commissioned in 1995. Crystal Cruises currently only operates two cruise lines, of which the Crystal Symphony is the smaller and older.
