Cubelles is a city in the autonomous community of Catalonia in the province of Barcelona . It is located in the Comarca Garraf in northeastern Spain on the Riu Foix , which flows into a small delta immediately west of the town into the Mediterranean Sea .
Culture and sights
The church of Santa Maria from 1700 with its typical bell tower from 1765 is worth seeing. The Castell Marquesos d 'Alfarràs was built in 1675 on the remains of the old Castillo of Cubelles. Since the renaturation, the river delta of the Riu Foix , which flows into the Mediterranean Sea to the west of the city center, has become a small natural history attraction. The Museo Charlie Rivel offer an overview of the life and work of the famous clown who was based in Cubelles.
Economy, tourism and transport
Until the beginning of the 1990s, there was a campsite in the Riu Foix delta called Camping Paradiso , which was also popular with many German tourists.
