Cult is the third studio album by the Finnish cello rock band Apocalyptica . Cult was released in 2000 by the music label Island Records and is occasionally assigned to the metal genre. You yourself prefer the title Cello Rock .
Music genre
For the first time, Apocalyptica also use percussion on this album . The cellos sound distorted for the first time .
Overall, the album is a tightrope walk between metal and classic . The melodies show certain similarities to the songs Sepulturas and Metallicas , e.g. B. the melody of Path is reminiscent of Master of Puppets . The songs Fight Fire with Fire and Until It Sleeps were taken directly from Metallica. In contrast to the previous albums, only three cover versions are included: the two aforementioned Metallica songs and Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg .
