Curly (singer)

Curly (civil Corinna Riti ) is a German singer. Her pseudonym comes from her curly hairstyle, which is her trademark.

Life

Curly was born as Corinna in Bietigheim-Bissingen near Stuttgart . Her father is Sicilian , her mother African American . She took singing lessons as a child and sang in local bands when she was twelve . She also started dancing and took courses at the New York City Dance School in Stuttgart. She met Prince backstage during a concert by Prince and The New Power Generation . This earned her a role in his video I Wanna Melt With U and a stay at his Paisley Park studios in Minneapolis . After graduating from high school, Curly traveled to New York and Vienna to advance her dancing and singing career. After returning to Germany, she worked in Frankfurt am Main for Hit Radio FFH and Planet Radio . She later moderated at Antenne Bayern and BigFM .

During the first season of the casting show Popstars 2000, Curly acted as a presenter for the Frankfurt casting. By chance and with the help of her colleagues, however, she ended up in the casting herself. In the end, she was one of the last to retire and barely missed an engagement with the No Angels . As a result, ex- Genghis Khan singer Leslie Mandoki took on her as a producer and recorded an album with Curly. This was called Natural , came on the market in 2001 and was a pop music LP shaped by Indian musical influences. The most successful releases were Don't Walk Away and Beautiful Lies . The first song was also used for the album Stars Inspired by Atlantis for the Disney film Atlantis - The Secret of the Lost City . In addition, the last song was Stay as the theme song of the ARD - telenovela Sturm der Liebe used.
