Cyndy Violette (born August 19, 1959 in Queens , New York City ) is a professional American poker player .

Career

Violette moved to Las Vegas when she was twelve . Even as a child, she loved playing cards with her uncle Ross. She gained her first casino experiences in adulthood during pregnancy with her daughter Shannon.

Violette won her first major poker tournament prize money in 1985 at a tournament at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas in the Seven Card Stud variant . The prize money of 75,000 US dollars at that time was the highest prize money won in a poker tournament a woman. This was followed by articles in magazines such as Playboy and various appearances on TV shows, which contributed significantly to their popularity. Then, after her second marriage, Violette took a two year hiatus from professional poker.

In 1990 she took part in a poker tournament at Caesars Palace , where she won $ 62,000 in prize money. After their divorce in 1993, she moved to Atlantic City , where she has lived ever since. Violette fulfilled her dream in 2004 by winning a tournament in Seven Card Stud high-low at the 2004 WSOP and with it her first bracelet and $ 135,900 prize money. She achieved her best annual result at the 2005 WSOP , where Violette reached three final tables and won six prizes in various poker tournaments.
