Cyrus Griffin (born July 16, 1749 in Farnham , Richmond County , Colony of Virginia , †  December 14, 1810 in Yorktown , Virginia ) was an American politician and the tenth president of the Confederation's Continental Congress. He held this office from January 22, 1788 to November 2, 1788, before it was abolished.

Griffin was born in Virginia but was raised in England and studied at Edinburgh University in Scotland. While there, he married the daughter of a Scottish nobleman.

After returning to America, Griffin embarked on a political career. From 1777 to 1778 he was a member of the House of Delegates of Virginia, again from 1786 to 1787. He was a member of the Continental Congress from 1778 to 1780 and from 1787 to 1788. In that year he succeeded Arthur St. Clair as President of Congress under the Articles of Confederation .

Cyrus Griffin was President of the Admiralty's Supreme Court from its inception until its abolition. In 1789 he was appointed commissioner for the Creek Indians . In the same year he accepted the post of judge at the federal district court for the district of Virginia, which he held until his death. He was buried at the side of his wife in Williamsburg .
