Cystodermella is a genus of mushrooms belonging to the mushroom relatives family. The species used to becounted amongthe granular umbrellalings .

The type species is the rust-red granular umbrella ( Cystodermella granulosa ).

features

Macroscopic features

The representatives of the genus are small to medium-sized species with typically grainy, sometimes wrinkled hat surfaces . The granular hat covering can be wiped off. The hat is colored white, pink, yellow-ocher, orange-brown or wine-reddish. In contrast to the umbrella ( Lepiota ), the whitish to yellowish lamellae are always more or less broadly attached to the stem , so that the hat cannot be separated from the stem without injury. The spore powder is white to pale cream in color. Also typical is the rising ring on the stem, which is more or less the same color as the hat. The handle is booted and has a smooth tip. Below the ring or the ring zone it is grainy and flaky.

Microscopic features

The cap skin contains rounded cells ( spherical cysts ) arranged in a chain . The mostly quite small spores do not have a germ pore and turn blue to purple ( amyloid ) when iodine reagent is added . Most species do not have sterile cells ( cystides ).

Generic delimitation

The species from the genus Cystodermella used to be counted together with the species from Ripartitella to the granular umbrella ( Cystoderma ). The latter was split up in 2002 by Harmaja and confirmed in 2009 by Saar, Põldmaa & Kõljalg through phylogenetic analyzes. Cystodermella contains species with inamyloid , smooth spores. Cystidia may or may not be present. The species of the genus Ripartitella also have inamyloid, but thorny spores.

species

The genus Cystodermella comprises 12 species, 5 of which occur or are expected in Europe.
