Dương Thị Việt Anh (born December 30, 1990 in Bạc Liêu ) is a Vietnamese high jumper and heptathlete .

Athletic career

Dương Thị Việt Anh gained her first experience in international competitions at the Junior Asian Championships 2008 in Jakarta , where she won the bronze medal in the high jump with 1.70 m. In 2009 she finished fifth in the pentathlon at the Indoor Asian Games in Hanoi and was fourth in the heptathlon at the Southeast Asian Games in Vientiane with 4657 points, but won the bronze medal in the high jump with a skipped 1.88 m behind the Thai women Noengrothai Chaipetch and Wanida Boonwan . In 2010 she was fourth in the high jump at the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran with 1.83 m. In 2011, she entered the heptathlon at the Asian Championships in Kobe , but ended her competition after three disciplines. She then won the gold medal at the Southeast Asian Games in Palembang with 1.90 m and won the bronze medal in the heptathlon with 5196 points behind the Thai Wassana Winatho and Narcisa Atienza from the Philippines. In 2012 she won the bronze medal in the high jump behind the Chinese Zheng Xingjuan and Wang Yang at the Indoor Asian Championships in Hangzhou with a 1.84 m and in the indoor pentathlon she won the silver medal behind the Kazakh Irina Karpowa with a new national record of 3812 points . In the high jump, she managed to qualify for the Olympic Games in London , but was eliminated there with 1.80 m in the qualification .

2013 she defended at the Southeast Asian Games in Naypyidaw at 1.83 m the gold medal in the high jump and 2015 it was in the South East Asia Games in Singapore with skipped 1.78 meters Fourth. Two years later she won the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur again with 1.83 m and then took fifth place in the high jump at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat with 1.75 m. In 2018 she took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and reached sixth place with 1.80 m. The following year she reached fourth place at the Southeast Asian Games in Capas with a height of 1.78 m.

In 2017 and 2019 Dương became Vietnamese high jump champion.
