The early German Luge Championships 2014 took place on December 21, 2013 on the Winterberg-Hochsauerland bobsleigh run . Due to the tight schedule, the competitions between the World Cup stations in Park City (December 13-14, 2013) and Königssee (January 4-5, 2014) took place.

The titles on the Winterberger Bahn in the individual competitions went to Tatjana Hüfner for women, Felix Loch for men and Toni Eggert / Sascha Benecken for the doubles . The relay race also won the team consisting of these German champions.

Tatjana Hüfner succeeded in the absence of world champion and defending champion Natalie Geisenberger , who was missing due to an infection, to get her third championship title after 2009 and 2012 and won ahead of Anke Wischnewski and Dajana Eitberger . The Winterberg local hero and Vice European Champion in 2010 Corinna Martini finished fourth in her last race. She ended her career after the German Championships after she had previously missed the qualification for the World Cup team of the Luge World Cup 2013/14 . Aileen Frisch , who was third in the previous year , was registered but did not take part in the race.

The future Olympic champion Felix Loch , who won his fourth title after 2009, 2010 and 2012, secured the German championship title in men , ahead of David Möller , for whom it was his last German championships. He ended his career after the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi . Young tobogganer Julian von Schleinitz was able to ride in third place . In the championship race, which also served as "internal Olympic qualification", the two competitors drove for the third Olympic starting position behind Loch and Möller, Johannes Ludwig and Andi Langenhan , behind Chris Eißler and Ralf Palik in 6th and 7th place and couldn't make a decisive one Make recommendation. After the cancellation of participation in the German championships by last year's winners Tobias Wendl / Tobias Arlt ( RC Berchtesgaden / WSV Königssee ), who had taken a break because of the birth of Tobias Arlt's daughter, the two-seater couple Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken secured the championship title before David Rothamel and Toni Förtsch as well as Robin Geueke and David Gamm . Eggert / Benecken thus secured their first national title. On the other places followed the German young two-seater pairs.
