Do Kyung-soo (born January 12, 1993 in Goyang , South Korea ), better known under the mononym D.O. , is a Korean singer and actor . He is a member of the Korean-Chinese boy group EXO and played the lead role in Pure Love (2016), My Annoying Brother (2016) and 100 Days My Prince (2018).
Life
Do Kyung-soo was born in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province , South Korea. He has a brother named Do Seungsoo who is three years older than him. In 2010 he took part in an audition for SM Entertainment where he sang Anticipation by Na Yoon-kwon and My Story by Brown Eyed Soul. During his final two years in high school, DO became a trainee under SM Entertainment.
Career
Do Kyung-soo officially became the eighth member of the band EXO on January 30, 2012. They made their debut on April 8, 2012 with the single Mama. In July 2013 DO worked with f (x) on the song Goodbye Summer . In December 2013 he sang the theme song for EXO's second EP Miracles in December with EXO members Baekhyun and Chen .
In September 2014, DO made his acting debut as a supporting actor in the film Cart . The film premiered at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. He also recorded the song Crying Out for the film . In the same year he was involved as a supporting actor in the SBS drama It's Okay, That's Love , for which he was praised by film critic Heo Ji-woong. Do Kyung-soo was then nominated for Best New Actor for the 51st Baeksang Arts Awards.
In 2015, it was announced that DO was selected among 40 Idol Actors for Best Actor in a Drama in 2014. In June 2015, he played a psychopath in the KBS drama Hello Monster .
In January 2016, DO was cast as a voice actor for the animated film The Underdog . In the film, which will be broadcast in 2017, he dubbed the stray dog Moongchi, who was separated from its owner. In February 2016 he worked with Yoo Young-jin for the duet Tell Me (What Is Love) . At the end of February, DO starred alongside Kim So-hyun in the romance Pure Love .
In April 2016, he was cast in Kim Yong-hwa's film With God. In October 2016, he starred alongside Chae Seo-jin in Positive Physique , a web drama produced by Samsung . The series became the most-watched web drama of all time. On October 25, 2016, he was featured in the thriller comedy Room No. 7 , who will start filming in January 2017. In November 2016, he played a blind judo athlete alongside Jo Jung-suk and Park Shin-hye in the film My Annoying Brother . Together with Jo Jung-suk he recorded the song Don't Worry for this.
