DGB-Bildungswerk NRW
The DGB-Bildungswerk NRW eV is with approx. 2,500 educational events and approx. 45,000 participants annually the largest provider of political education in North Rhine-Westphalia . The facility, based in Düsseldorf , emerged in 1989 from the education department of the DGB district of North Rhine-Westphalia and initially only offered seminars in accordance with the NRW Employee Training Act (also known as educational leave ). Today, the DGB-Bildungswerk NRW offers work-oriented seminars, study seminars and seminars for works councils, staff councils and other representatives of interests in close cooperation with the DGB unions in North Rhine-Westphalia. Around 2000 mostly volunteer experts from different areas work as speakers for the educational institute. Full-time pedagogical employees develop the programs, organize the seminars and work out the content with the speakers. The DGB-Bildungswerk NRW is a registered association. Members are: The North Rhine-Westphalian subdivisions of the German Trade Union Federation ( DGB ), the Police Union (GdP), the Education and Science Union (GEW), the Food - Enjoyment - Restaurants (NGG) union , the Construction - Agriculture - Environment trade union (IG BAU), the Mining, Chemical and Energy Industrial Union (IG BCE), the Metallurgy Union ( IG Metall ), the Railway and Transport Union and the United Services Union ( ver.di ). The general assembly usually meets once a year.
Headquarters Düsseldorf
The head office of the DGB-Bildungswerk NRW eV has its seat in Düsseldorf in the Bismarckstrasse in the immediate vicinity of the DGB-district NRW. Here are approx. 70 employees as well as several temporary workers in the logistics area. Since 2004 the DGB-Bildungswerk NRW eV has also been a training company . The head office deals with the planning and implementation of seminars for works councils and staff councils , employee representatives , representatives for severely disabled persons and youth and trainee representatives as well as political training for interested employees. Most of the seminars are held in close collaboration and cooperation with trade union partners. Mainly with branches of IG Metall, departments of ver.di and IG BAU Region Rhineland and Region Westphalia. In addition, study seminars abroad are offered on the basis of the Employee Training Act (AWbG).

Recklinghausen project office and Institute for Education, Training and Work gGmbH

EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management)
The DGB-Bildungswerk NRW eV is a member of the EFQM . The European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) is a not-for-profit membership organization based in Brussels . It is used as a tool to determine, stimulate and improve strengths and potentials on the basis of self-assessments.
