Damian Hartard from and to Hattstein

Damian Hartard von und zu Hattstein (* 1676 in Hesse ; † 1751 ) was a German genealogist .

Life

Hattstein came from a Hessian noble family and was royally fuldaischer privy , equerry , Major General , Commander of the Guards on horseback and country Obrist one regiment on foot. He was a landlord on Munzenberg . His sponsor was Amand von Buseck , the first prince-bishop of Fulda .

In his first marriage he married Anna Philippina Forstmeister zu Gelnhausen († 1717) in 1699 , whereby he was related to the von Hutten family. The marriage remained childless. In his second marriage he married Katharina Elisabeth von Walderdorf (born June 29, 1696, † September 30, 1748).

Works

The main work of the nobility researcher bears the title The Highness of the Teutschen Reichs Nobility, which is elevated to Chur and princely dignities. That is: Complete sample of the ancestors of unadulterated Adelich families, without which no one can get to the ore, cathedral, high order and knight donors [...] and was published in three volumes between 1729 and 1740 in Fulda . A revised version was published in Bamberg in 1751 . This standard work, which was used to prove aristocratic descent ( nobility test ), contains genealogical tables of ascendancy (tables of ancestors) for around 500 predominantly southern German aristocratic families. These tables are based on a test person and then usually go back up to four generations. The subjects lived between 1500 and 1750.
