Dana Ruth Schwartz Bash (born June 15, 1971 in Montvale , New Jersey , born Dana Ruth Schwartz ) is an American journalist of Jewish origin who currently works as an anchorwoman for the television station CNN .

biography

Bash graduated from high school at Pascack Hills High School in her hometown of Montvale. After that, she graduated from George Washington University in Washington, DC their Bachelor "cum laude" in political science graduated and then CNN on. After working as editor in Washington, she reported extensively on the 2000 election campaign of Al Gore , the Democratic Party's presidential candidate . Bash also reported live on the 9/11 attacks .

During the eight years of George W. Bush's presidency , Bash reported on Hurricane Katrina , the capture of Saddam Hussein , the 2004 presidential campaign and the 2006 mid-term election. Bash was focused on the 2008 presidential election in the United States for the Republican Party and reported live on CNN election night from their official election party in Scottsdale .

In the 2016 comic film adaptation of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice by Zack Snyder , she has a cameo in which she plays herself.

Private life

Bash the daughter of Stu Schwartz , a journalist for the news channel ABC , and the author Francie Schwartz . She has a brother named David. From 1998 to 2007 she was married to her first husband, Jeremy B. Bash. In May 2008 she married her CNN colleague John King , who, like her, specializes in reporting on the Republican Party. Since Bash is Jewish, her husband also converted to Judaism. It should be noted that she kept the name "Bash" even after divorce and remarriage. The marriage to John King divorced in 2012. They have one son (* 2011).
