Daniel Bernhardi

Daniel Bernhardi , pseudonym ( anagram ) Hadriani Brendel , (born January 20, 1622 in Rosenthal , † 1707 in Stendal ) was a German Protestant theologian .

Life

Daniel Bernhardi was born as the son of pastor Siegismund Bernhardi and his wife Sabina Plancke.

He studied theology at the universities of Frankfurt (Oder) and Wittenberg . In 1648/49 he worked as a preceptor in Lentzke . On April 26, 1649 he was ordained and appointed pastor in Perwenitz . Two years later he became pastor in Pankow in 1651 and then in 1654 in Alt-Töplitz . In this office he remained until his change in 1664 as pastor in Linum .

In the period from 1681 to 1707 he worked as general superintendent at the cathedral in Stendal and in this function, among other things, put on the biblical collection of the cathedral library St. Nicolai in Stendal. After his death Johann Christoph Meurer succeeded him as general superintendent.

Daniel Bernhardi's first marriage was to Katharina Zietemann, a daughter of Pastor Joachim Zietemann from Perwenitz. From this marriage three sons and one daughter were born. On May 16, 1659, he married Anna Elisabeth Juchhofer (Inchhofer, Innickenhöffer), the daughter of pastor Heinrich Juchhofer (* in Herzberg / Elster), for the second time in Alt Töplitz. Daniel Bernhardi had a total of seven sons and three daughters.
