Daniel Bernhardt (born August 31, 1965 in Worblaufen ) is a Swiss stuntman and actor .

Life

Daniel Bernhardt completed his training as a plumbing draftsman. Since the age of 15 he has trained martial arts as the son of a hobby boxer . While still an apprentice, he tried to open a martial arts school. After completing his professional training, he worked as a photo model in Germany and Paris. At the height of his modeling career, he was a sought-after model and regularly jetted to European and Asian fashion centers. At the age of 27 he moved to New York.

As part of a commercial for Versace , he improvised a fight scene with Jean-Claude Van Damme . He then shot an application video as a stuntman and went to Hollywood in 1993. Mark DiSalle noticed him. Bernhardt received leading roles in the films Bloodsport II to IV , even if DiSalle was no longer involved in these films.

He starred as journalist Josh Barnaby in the action thriller Tornado by Alain Jakubowicz from 2002. He starred as Agent Johnson in the 2003 science fiction film Matrix Reloaded .

In the eleventh episode of the third season of Germany's Next Top Model , he showed the candidates how martial arts are used in the film, as the candidates for a commercial should have the appropriate skills. In 2007 he made his debut as a director with the film Fetch .

Bernhardt is married to Lisa Stothard and has had a daughter since May 2003. He met his wife while filming Bloodsport IV - The Dark Kumite .
