Daniel Hurley

Daniel Eugene Hurley AM (born April 21, 1940 in Orroroo ) is an Australian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Darwin .

Life

The Bishop of Port Pirie , Bryan Gallagher , ordained him a priest on June 27, 1964 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Port Pirie on November 27, 1998. The Archbishop of Adelaide , Leonard Faulkner , donated him the episcopal ordination on February 12, 1999; Co- consecrators were Noel Desmond Daly , Bishop of Sandhurst , and Edmund Collins MSC , Bishop of Darwin.

He was named Bishop of Darwin on July 3, 2007, and initiated into the office on August 29 of the same year.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on June 27, 2018.
