Daniel Langbein

Daniel Langbein (born September 30, 1987 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor .

Life

Daniel Langbein is the grandson of the Austrian resistance fighter Hermann Langbein and the son of the filmmaker and journalist Kurt Langbein . From 2010 to 2014 he completed his acting studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz . He initially worked in university productions and theater projects by, u. a. in the House for Music and Music Theater (MUMUTH) in Graz. He had theater engagements, partly while still studying, at the Schauspielhaus Graz (2012) and at the Wiener Lustspielhaus (2014). At the Wiener Lustspielhaus he appeared in July / August 2014, directed by Adi Hirschal , as "Glückspilz" Blasius Klee in the Othello parody Othello. Bad in Hernals in the role of the youthful lover.

Since the beginning of the 2014/15 season he has been a permanent member of the theater Junge Generation in Dresden , where he played numerous leading and supporting roles. His stage roles there included u. a. the title role in a Krabat production. Langbein played the role of Friar Tuck in a new Robin Hood production. In August 2016 he took on the role of the hunter in Peter and the Wolf in a co-production of the Young Generation Theater with the Dresden Philharmonic .

Langbein also worked for cinema and television from 2011, starting with a number of short films . He had a supporting role in the Wolf Haas crime film Das Ewige Leben (2015). In December 2014 he was seen on Austrian television in the Austrian television series SOKO Donau in a leading episode role as a suspect seminary Leopold Grunau. In 2016, he took on another SOKO Danube episode role as Viennese legal intern Adrian Schwarz in the 12th season .

Langbein wrote about the fate of his grandfather Hermann Langbein, based on his memory book The Strongers. A report from Auschwitz and other concentration camps , a play entitled Power Opportunity Murderer , which premiered in 2014 with Daniel Langbein and Lukas Stöger and has since been shown at various venues.

Langbein lives in Dresden.
