Daniel McCray

Daniel McCray (born January 2, 1986 in Speyer ) is a former German football player .

career

McCray, who previously played football , handball and basketball , played in the Heidelberg Bulls ' junior division from 2000 to 2002 , and was appointed to both the Baden-Württemberg youth team and the German national junior team. From 2003 he belonged to the Weinheim Longhorns , where he made the leap into the men's team, with which he competed in the top German division GFL . In 2010 he was in the service of the Marburg Mercenaries . At the beginning of the 2011 season he was part of the Saarland Hurricanes team , but at the end of May 2011 he moved to the Rhein-Neckar Bandits in Mannheim . He stayed there until 2013, for the 2014 season, the 1.80 meter long, linebacker McCray joined the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns and played for the team until the end of his career in 2018. In 2014, 2015 and 2016 he was in the final of the German championship with Schwäbisch Hall, but lost each time to the Braunschweig Lions . In 2017 and 2018 he became German champions with the team.

With the German national team, McCray won the European Championship in 2010 and 2014. His brother David played in the basketball league .
