Daniel Ris

Daniel Ris (born March 8, 1965 in Leverkusen ) is a German actor , theater director , author and cultural manager . Since September 2016 he has been the artistic director of the Mayen Castle Festival .

Daniel Ris was born as the third child of the sculptor Günter Ferdinand Ris and his wife Hildegard Hofmann. After high school and community service, he studied at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum . After graduating in 1990, he worked as an actor at the theaters in Dortmund and Bielefeld , the Schauspiel Frankfurt am Main and in 1993 at the Theater Konstanz . Ris also began to direct there. He has been working as a freelancer since 1998.

As a performer he has been a. a. at the state theaters in Stuttgart and Hanover , the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg , the Theater Rampe in Stuttgart as well as in Berlin at the Neuköllner Oper , in the TIPI at the Chancellery and in the Bar every reason .

In addition to his theater work, Ris completed an Executive Master's degree in Arts Administration at the University of Zurich from 2008 as a scholarship holder of the Ars Rhenia Foundation , which he completed in 2011 with the thesis “Business Ethics for the Cultural Industry. Perspectives using the example of theater under public law ”. Since then, in addition to his theater work, he has also increasingly been active as a consultant, lecturer and guest lecturer on this topic. 2013–2015 followed training as an Open Space Technology Companion and in systemic coaching .

At the end of the season in summer 2016, Ris took over the artistic direction of the Mayen Castle Festival.
