biography

Müller played her first FIS race as a 15-year-old in March 2000. On December 29, 2001, she was allowed to compete in a World Cup race for the first time, but could not qualify for the second round in the slalom in Lienz . Even in her next two World Cup slaloms in Maribor , she did not come to a result, so she drove more FIS and her first European Cup races.

She celebrated her greatest success at the 2002 Junior World Championships in Tarvisio , where she won the silver medal behind Maria Riesch in the Super G. The day before she was fourth in the downhill and finished the world championship with a bronze medal in the combination . In addition, in 2002 she won the Austrian national championship in combination.

In the following season, 2002/03, she was sidelined due to an injury. In her comeback season, Müller won the bronze medal in the downhill at the 2004 Junior World Championships in Maribor behind Riesch and Lindsey Kildow . In addition, she was third in the downhill classification in the European Cup. In January 2005, Daniela Müller won her first and only European Cup race with the downhill in Megève . Shortly afterwards she suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and a meniscus injury during the European Cup downhill training in Reinswald / Sarntal , but kept second place in the European Cup downhill classification due to her good results and thus had a fixed place for the 2005/06 World Cup season .

On December 2, 2005, Müller started a World Cup downhill run in Lake Louise for the first time, but did not get past 50th place. She couldn't score in the next two runs either and competed in the European Cup and FIS races in the rest of the season. But she was injured again and found it difficult to make friends. She contested her last race on March 31, 2007 at the Slovenian State Championships in Innerkrems , where she finished third in the downhill. Two days earlier she won the bronze medal at the Austrian state championships in downhill.
