Daniele Libanori SJ (born May 27, 1953 in Ostellato ) is an Italian religious and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Rome .

Life

Daniele Libanori began preparing for the priesthood as early as 1964 and received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Ferrara on June 11, 1977 .

He obtained a licentiate in theology of evangelism at Theological Studies Bologna and was at the Theological Faculty of Central Italy in the subject Theology of Christian life doctorate .

Until 1991 he was also in parish ministry and worked since 1983 rain of Priersterseminars . In 1991 he entered the Jesuit order . From 1993 to 1997 he worked in the university pastoral care in L'Aquila . From 1998 to 2003 he was university chaplain at La Sapienza University in Rome. In 2002 he made his perpetual profession . From 2003 he was vice rector and from 2008 to 2016 rector of the Roman Jesuit church Il Gesù . He then headed the national prayer apostolate for a few months and, since 2017, has been rector of the Church of San Giuseppe dei Falegnami at the Roman Forum and a collaborator in the training of the clergy.

On November 23, 2017 Pope appointed him Francis to the titular of Buruni and auxiliary bishop in Rome. The Vicar General of the Diocese of Rome, Archbishop Angelo De Donatis , donated him and the auxiliary bishop Paolo Ricciardi, who was appointed at the same time, the episcopal ordination on January 13 of the following year . Co- consecrators were Gianrico Ruzza , auxiliary bishop in Rome, and Andrea Turazzi , bishop of San Marino-Montefeltro .

On April 14, 2018, Pope Francis appointed him a member of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints .
