Danny Yanga (born January 3, 1983 in Curaçao , Netherlands Antilles ) is a Dutch singer , actor , presenter and model .

life and career

Danny Yanga grew up on Curaçao (one of the islands of the Netherlands Antilles ) and took singing lessons there. At the age of 18 he began his career as a model and just one year later, in 2002, he won an award for best male model in the Antilles.

He became known in 2004 in the musical The Lion King, staged by Joop van den Ende , in the leading role of the young Simba. There he played for two years in the Circus Theater in Scheveningen . From 2006 to 2007 he got a leading role again, as the scarecrow "Scarecrow" in the musical The Wiz in the Beatrix Theater in Utrecht .

In 2008 he started his musical career as a solo artist with his tour "Danny Yanga in Concert" in his home country. Shortly afterwards he sang and danced either as a soloist or together with Anita Meyer and Lee Towers in the orchestra "Hollywood in Concert" in the Netherlands . He also played in 2009 in "Viva Las Vegas" and another show from Curaçao.

He was also the presenter of a television program on Curaçao and presented a radio program for children. His songs were very successful because he had several number 1 hits on various radio stations in the Antilles. He sings his own songs in his native Papiamentu , but can also sing in English , Dutch and German . In addition to his leading role in a musical, he is currently working on his first album. In addition to his singing successes, the all-rounder can also look forward to international model awards.

One of the leading Dutch newspapers ( de Volkskrant ) described him as a "musical trinity", as a singer, dancer and actor.

Since 2010 he can be seen again as Simba in the musical The Lion King in the Stage Theater in Hamburg .

Danny Yanga currently lives in Hamburg.
