Dante Gustavo Braida Lorenzón (born July 18, 1968 in Reconquista ) is an Argentine clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of La Rioja .

Life

Dante Gustavo Braida received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Reconquista on April 21, 1996 .

He worked in pastoral care and from 2000 to 2004 as a missionary in Cuba . In addition, he was responsible for vocational pastoral care and, from 2004 to 2009, worked in the formation of priests at the interdiocesan seminary in Reconquista. Before being appointed bishop, he was most recently vicar general of the Reconquista diocese.

Pope Francis appointed him titular bishop of Tanudaia and auxiliary bishop in Mendoza on April 11, 2015 . The Archbishop of Mendoza, Carlos María Franzini , donated him episcopal consecration on June 12 of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Reconquista, Ángel José Macín , and Martín Fassi , auxiliary bishop of San Isidro .

After the death of Carlos María Franzini, he was Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Mendoza from December 11, 2017 until the appointment of the new Archbishop in May 2018 .

On December 13, 2018, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of La Rioja . The inauguration took place on December 28 of the same year.
