Dany Bousquet (born April 3, 1973 in Montreal , Québec ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player .
Career
Bousquet began his career in various Canadian junior leagues before he was selected during the NHL Entry Draft 1993 by the officials of the Washington Capitals in the eleventh round at a total of 277th position. During the 1995/96 season he moved to the East Coast Hockey League for the Hampton Roads Admirals , for which he completed eight games. In the summer of 1996 he joined the league rivals Birmingham Bulls . He was active there until 1998. This was followed by further engagements with the Pee Dee Pride from the ECHL and the Providence Bruins from the American Hockey League . For the 2002/03 season he forced a move to Europe and consequently signed a contract with the Italian first division Asiago Hockey . In 39 league games, Bousquet scored 54 points and was one of the best strikers in Serie A.
Because of the performance shown, he was then signed by the Freiburg Wolves, who played in the German Ice Hockey League in the 2003/04 season . Since he was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga with the Wolves , he moved to the Kassel Huskies after only one season . His contract in Kassel, which expired in 2005, was not extended. He then played in the Austrian EBEL at EC VSV until 2008 , before he returned to Germany in summer 2008 and from then on went on the ice for the Schwenninger Wild Wings . In Schwenningen, however, he only played 20 games and joined the Wölfen Freiburg during the 2008/09 season . After his contract was not renewed in the summer of 2010, Bousquet returned to North America and signed with Caron & Guay de Trois-Rivières .
