Danylo Volodymyrowytsch Danylenko ( Ukrainian Данило Володимирович Даниленко ; born October 10, 1994 in Cherkassy ) is a Ukrainian sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run , but also competes in the 400-meter hurdles .

Athletic career

Danylo Danylenko gained his first international experience in 2013 when he was eliminated in the first round of the European Junior Championships in Rieti in the 400 meter hurdles with 53.63 seconds. At the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Sopot in 2014 , he finished sixth with the Ukrainian 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 08.79 min and in the summer he was disqualified at the European Championships in Zurich with the relay in the preliminary run. The following year he retired from the U23 European Championships in Tallinn with 51.65 seconds in the hurdles in the preliminary round and finished fifth in the relay in 3: 09.14 minutes. In 2016 he qualified over 400 meters for the European Championships in Amsterdam , but retired there with 47.49 s in the lead, while he reached sixth place in the relay in 3: 04.45 min. In 2017 he finished fifth at the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade with the relay in 3: 09.64 min and the following year he was eliminated at the European Championships in Berlin both in the individual competition over 400 m hurdles with 51.02 s, as well as with the relay in 3: 05.95 minutes in the first round.

In 2019 he was eliminated from the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow over 400 meters with 47.59 s in the run-up, before he subsequently took part in the Summer Universiade in Naples , where he came fourth in 46.23 s. Shortly before that, he won the mixed relay at the European Games in Minsk in 3: 16.65 minutes and qualified for the World Championships in Doha , where the relay did not reach the final with 3: 17.50 minutes .

In 2017 Danylenko became Ukrainian champion in the 400-meter hurdles and in 2019 over 400 meters.
