Dario Bodrušić (born January 10, 1983 in Bugojno ) is a Croatian football player . The central defender and junior selection player has been under contract with first division clubs in Croatia, Albania and Australia over the course of his career.
Career
Bodrušić comes from the youth division of Dinamo Zagreb , with whose A-youth he became Croatian football champion in 2002. After loan stays at NK Trnje and NK Croatia Sesvete , he played for one season at Inter Zaprešić in 2003/04 before he was active for NK Slaven Belupo Koprivnica for three years .
In 2007 he moved to the Albanian capital club Dinamo Tirana and made 26 appearances when winning the championship in 2008. After spending the second half of 2008 in Croatia at HNK Rijeka , he returned to Dinamo Tirana for six months at the beginning of 2009. The 2009/10 season he played for the Croatian first division club NK Istra in 1961 before he was hired by NK Rudeš in the 2nd HNL . In late January 2011, Bodrušić moved to the Australian club Adelaide United for the final stages of the A-League 2010/11 , where he was signed as a replacement for Iain Fyfe . The contact came about through the Adelaide owner Bruno Marveggio. Bodrušić started the last two game days of the regular season and also played in the championship play-offs against Wellington Phoenix (1-0) and Gold Coast United (2-3), but the club saw a commitment beyond the end of the season.
Back in Croatia, Bodrušić rejoined the NK Rudeš in early 2012, for which he was active until early 2014. He then moved to the Austrian second division club TSV Hartberg , for whom he played a total of 33 competitive games during the year. His contract was terminated by the club in December 2014 after he had been sentenced to five games for the failure to report that he was aware of illegal influence on football games involving the short-term coach Ivo Istuk . From the 2015/16 season he played again in the 2nd HNL for NK Rudeš, in January 2017 he joined the league competitor NK Zagreb for half a year . For the 2017/18 season he will play again in Austria for SK Bischofshofen in the fourth-class Salzburg league .
