Dario Krešić [ ˈkrɛ.ʃɪtɕ ] (born January 11, 1984 in Vukovar , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a former Croatian football player .
Career
society
In 2009, Dario Krešić moved to league rivals PAOK Saloniki after three years at Panionios Athens . In 2012 he went to the Russian first division club Lokomotiv Moscow , where his compatriot Slaven Bilić was a coach.
During the winter break of the 2013/14 season, he moved to the Bundesliga for FSV Mainz 05 . He received a half-year contract until the end of the season with an option for a follow-up contract until 2016.
In the summer break of 2014 he moved to Bayer Leverkusen. Krešić made his competitive debut for Leverkusen on August 8, 2015 in the first round of the DFB Cup , when he was substituted on for the ailing Bernd Leno in the 86th minute of the game at Sportfreunde Lotte . Krešić's contract term was not extended beyond June 2016. On May 14, 2016 (34th matchday), he made his only appearance in the Bundesliga when he was called up from the start in the 3-2 home win over FC Ingolstadt 04 . Krešić was substituted on for David Yelldell in the 47th minute . In the 2016/17 season he played three more games for Omonia Nicosia in the Cypriot First Division and ended his career.
He works in viticulture in Croatia and works for a German player agency.
National team
Krešić went through several Croatian U-national teams . In 2012 he was appointed to the senior national team for the first time . On September 10, 2013 he completed an A international match for Croatia against South Korea .
