Darius Slay Demetrius (* 1. January 1991 in Brunswick , Georgia ) is an American American football poker players on the position of the cornerbacks . He plays for the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League (NFL).
college
Slay first attended Itawamba Community College , but then moved to Mississippi State University and played for their team, the Bulldogs, for two years successfully college football , where he was able to set a total of 64 tackles and achieve six interceptions . He also got two touchdowns .

Detroit Lions
Slay was selected 36th in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions in the second round. Shortly thereafter, he had meniscal surgery and then signed a four-year contract worth $ 5.28 million . In his rookie season, he was used in thirteen games, four times as a starter , before he had to be placed on the Injured Reserve List due to another meniscus injury .
In the next two seasons he was able to establish himself in the defensive backfield of the Lions and was one of the two starting cornerbacks in all games, occasionally he was also used in the special teams .
Due to his good performance, his contract was extended early in 2016. He signed another four-year contract this time for $ 48.15 million, 23.1 of which was guaranteed.
2017 had Slay's best season so far. He got 26 pass defenses and eight interceptions, which he led the league together with Kevin Byard . For the performances shown, he was also appointed to the Pro Bowl for the first time .
